TATTOO AFTERCARE:

Taking care of your new artwork is simple. Basically, it is very similar to taking care of a bad scratch or abrasion. Remember, everybody heals differently and your artwork my go through some unexpected stages throughout the healing process. Don’t panic, simply follow these instructions and wait for the results. After four weeks, your skin should be completely healed. If needed, we guarantee one free retouch.

Here is what you should do:

1. For at least two weeks, keep your artwork out of the hot tub, chlorine swimming pool, hot bathtub or dirty river water. The objective here is to keep the ink under the top layers of skin until after the tattoo heals. Also, keep your tattoo out of the sun (no sunscreen until after it is completely healed).

2. While bathing, gently wash your new artwork once a day: Apply lathery liquid antibacterial soap to the area with your fingertips (not a wash towel) and then gently rinse.

3. Apply light thin coats of ointment at least three times a day for a few weeks (make sure your hands are clean). We recommend: BACITRACIN (found w/ other first aid products), AQUAPHOR, EUCERIN (found w/ skin lotions), or A&D OINTMENT (found w/ baby products). Choose the one that works best for you. (NO NEOSPORIN! It tends to take the ink out, dry-up and scab tattoos)

4. If possible, keep your artwork uncovered and clean while healing.

PIERCING AFTERCARE:

Aftercare of your new piercing is also very simple. Follow these directions and the healing time will be minimized with excellent results. If you follow these instructions, and infection continues, you may be allergic to the steel. This is rare but does happen. If so, gold or plastic jewelry is usually a good alternative.

For best results, here is what you should do:

1. Never turn your new jewelry while it is dry or touch it with dry dirty hands.

2. Do not use Alcohol or Peroxide on your new piercing (unless necessary). It will kill bacteria and stop infection but will also prevent healing.

3. Once a day, while bathing: Lather the newly pierced area with liquid antibacterial soap. While wet and soapy; thoroughly turn the jewelry insuring the soap goes entirely through the piercing. Then gently rinse.

4. While rinsing, position the jewelry (remember never do this while dry).

5. For the first few weeks thoroughly apply NEOSPORIN immediately after washing (optional).

6. After Washing and positioning, do not touch or play with your new piercing! You will have plenty of time for that after the piercing heals.

8. Have patients... Do not change the jewelry you were pierced with until after you heal. Other jewelry does not allow for aftercare as well as the jewelry we give you. (Different piercings have different healing times. Depending on the area, we can give you an idea of what to expect.)
